The Artvin 2026-2030 Tourism Master Plan Workshop, designed by Kapadokya University with a special methodology and a focus on priority areas centered on Artvin’s tourism potential, was held in Artvin on September 29, 2025. The workshop aimed to outline a roadmap that will define the city’s tourism vision.
The workshop was attended by the Artvin Governorship, Artvin Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Artvin Çoruh University, local administrations, industry stakeholders, academicians, and representatives of civil society.
Kapadokya University, leveraging its academic expertise and institutional experience, led a planning process based on Artvin’s unique natural, cultural, and historical values. This approach aims to contribute to placing the city in the position it deserves in tourism.
During the workshop, which addressed the steps needed to develop Artvin’s potential and increase its visibility at national and international levels, the activities carried out by Kapadokya University—guided by an academic approach focused on local priorities and strong stakeholder collaboration—were evaluated.
Through interactive search conferences and thematic table sessions, participants examined Artvin’s strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and areas for development. Solution-oriented proposals specific to the city were developed in areas such as nature tourism, cultural tourism, ecotourism, sports tourism, gastronomy, promotion and marketing, destination management, digitalization, and smart tourism.
