Founding his life and pen to understand the spirit of these lands, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of our University, Reverend Alev Alatlı, was commemorated at the funeral of Mihrişah Valide Sultan on the second anniversary of his death.
Throughout his life, Alev Alatlı, who combined criticism with conscience, and literature with thought, left behind not only works, but a strong intellectual legacy and a stance that inspired generations. This legacy was once again remembered with respect and gratitude at the ceremony, which was held with the participation of his lovers and fellow travelers of ideas.
The memorial program was attended by Former Minister of National Education and 28th term Army MP Prof. Dr. Mahmut Özer, AK Party Kayseri MP Ayşe Böhürler, Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Funda F. Aktan. Also present at the ceremony were RoyalCert Co-Chairman Kazım Tekin, Former Secretary General of the National Security Council Seyfullah Hacımüftüoğlu, Founding President of the European Turkish-Islamic Union (ATİB), Honorary President of UKID Musa Serdar Çelebi, architect and musician Celaleddin Çelik and journalist-writer Şeref Oğuz.
In
the program held at the beginning of the tomb, prayers, memory and music were read by Fehmi Atay with neyzen Ahmet Şahin. The prayers read accompanied Alev Alatlı's journey of thought that preceded the truth and the lasting traces he left in the memory of the nation.
The memorial service ended with a shared sense of responsibility and responsibility, as an expression of his determination to live up to his intellectual heritage and to carry his works and his intellectual stance into the future on the academic and cultural ground.
